Car Data Index ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use cardataindex.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you provide. If you contact us through our contact form, we collect your name, email address and message solely to respond to your inquiry.

Automatically collected data. Like most websites, our servers record standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and analytics purposes.

VIN lookups. Vehicle Identification Numbers you enter into our VIN decoder are submitted to retrieve publicly available vehicle data. We do not store VIN queries together with any personally identifying information.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies for three purposes:

• Essential cookies, required for core site functionality and for remembering your cookie-consent choice
• Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 helps us understand aggregate usage (pages visited, session count) so we can improve the site. IP anonymization is applied

Contact-form messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the inquiry. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics default retention settings. We apply industry-standard safeguards, but no internet transmission is ever 100% secure.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
